In her story she talks about how she wants to invent a revolutionary new invention to represent Japan and give it worldwide recognition, and uses captured Morgana technology to create some strange technologies like a suit that changes color and a kind of extremely powerful grenade launcher.

* The writer and father of Japanese science fiction Sano Shōichi, better known by his pen name Unno Juza, served onboard ''Aoba'' during WWII as a news and propaganda writer despite the fact he was critical of Japan's expansionism. This is reason for Aoba's love for science fiction (and on the side, the reason that Aoba in KanColle and Azur Lane are news reporters).

* Lead ship of her own class of heavy cruisers alongside her lone sister ''Kinugasa''. Originally meant to be the next two ''Furutaka''-class they had their designs changed to improve them which also got them classified as their own class. These improvements were later retrofitted to the ''Furutaka''-class.
