Belles first appeared in September 1, 1939. While they pledge allegiance to the nation that built them, Belles can and will refuse to take orders that they do not agree with. She was nicknamed Sushka (a kind of Russian hard bread ring like a small donut) by [[Leningrad]].<ref>https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/blackchickenstudios/victory-belles/posts/2476599</ref> S-3 is quite irresponsible and sees work as something bad for her and her crew, neglecting to tidy the submarine and having things left all over the floor. A rat that was described as almost mummified was even found by her captain and in response she tells him to put a ribbon on it to make it look nicer. Despite all this she acts innocently about it, having an innocent childlike demeanor. She also seems to be a big dreamer, constantly insisting her captain to consider getting a cow as a source of fresh milk for drinking and making toffee despite the many logistical challenges of keeping a cow on a submarine.

They were based on the design of Submarino E-1, a design ordered by the Spanish Navy (later canceled and given to the Turkish as TCG ''Gür'') which was also the basis of the Type I U-boats for the Kreigsmarine as well as their other future U-boats. This means that S-3 along with the rest of the S-class is technically related to the U-boats.
* The first few S-class submarines were built with German machinery, particularly batteries and engines. Eventually this was found to be too complex and expensive, and so all future submarines were built with local machinery. S-3's construction was caught in the middle of this and as a result she was unique, being completed with some German parts but with a Soviet engine due to delays for the German one. Despite all this she acts innocently about it, having an innocent childlike demeanor. She also seems to be a big dreamer, constantly insisting her captain to consider getting a cow as a source of fresh milk for drinking and making toffee despite the many logistical challenges of keeping a cow on a submarine.

''Aoba'' and her lone sister ship ''Kinugasa'' were a pair of ''Aoba''-class heavy cruisers. Originally due to be part of the ''Furutaka''-class including the eponymous ''Furutaka'' and ''Kako'', the IJN wanted the new ships to be fitted with the new twin-gun 20 cm turrets but since ''Furutaka'' and ''Kako'' had already been completed they instead slated the new turrets to be placed on the two next ships which then received enough modification to be their own class. The ''Aoba''-class had three twin-gun 20 cm turrets instead of the six single-gun 20cm turrets of the ''Furutaka''s (whom were later retrofitted to have twin-gun), new 12 cm secondary cannons, and a catapult to launch scout floatplanes, but otherwise were very similar to the ''Furutaka''-class. She had a long service life in World War II in several divisions and often as flagship. She served in China, Guam, and Wake Island earlier in the war. She escorted carrier ''Shōkaku'' to Truk after she was severely damaged. ''Aoba'' also took part in the Battle of Savo Island where her relative ''Kako'' was sunk. At the Battle of Cape Esperance she was badly damaged by the US Navy ships and had to be sent back to be fixed and after this ''Aoba'' suffered repeated unlucky damage. She was attacked by B-17s at port and had to be beached to prevent her sinking, accidentally rammed into fellow IJN ship the light cruiser ''Kinu'', and was torpedoed by multiple submarines. Her final resting place was at Kure where despite being severely damaged was kept as an AA battery. After suffering multiple more bombing that caused her to sink into the shallow 7.6 m (25 ft) her stern broke off after some B-24s finished her off. Her hulk was abandoned until being scrapped in 1946-1947 after the war.

The '''Morganas''' are the main enemies in Victory Belles. They are a mysterious fleet of unknown origin that is hostile to all human life. Their appearance on September 1, 1939 (the day World War II began in real life) caused the [[Nations|major powers of the world]] to come to an agreement to hold off on fighting each other and to focus on combatting and defeating the Morganas instead with the help of the [[Belles]] that recently appeared alongside them.

Morgana ships have no known crew and are powered by an unknown method. They are similar to normal human ships in construction and shape, with the exception of Terrors, which are giant amalgamations of ships. == Historical Information ==
''Fubuki'' was the lead ship of the ''Fubuki''-class destroyers. After the 1922 Washington Naval Treaty treated Japan as inferior to other major navies like the Royal Navy and US Navy and put more constraints on their capital ships, the IJN set out to instead work on a type of destroyer that was better than any before it. The result was the ''Fubuki''-class, a destroyer much more powerful than those from any other navy before, and even rivaled some light cruisers. The type was considered the first modern destroyer and were called ''Toku-gata Kuchikukan'' (Special Type Destroyers), had two subclasses which were the ''Ayanami'' and ''Akatsuki''-classes, and remained formidable ships as long as the end of World War II. ''Fubuki'' was the first one made and in WWII served in many theaters and battles such as in China, Southeast Asia, the Battle of Sunda Strait, Guadalcanal, and finally the Battle of Cape Esperance where she was finally sunk by American ships on October 11, 1942.

''Aoba'' and her lone sister ship ''Kinugasa'' were a pair of ''Aoba''-class heavy cruisers. Originally due to be part of the ''Furutaka''-class including the eponymous ''Furutaka'' and ''Kako'', the IJN wanted the new ships to be fitted with the new twin-gun 20 cm turrets but since ''Furutaka'' and ''Kako'' had already been completed they instead slated the new turrets to be placed on the two next ships which then received enough modification to be their own class. The ''Aoba''-class had three twin-gun 20 cm turrets instead of the six single-gun 20cm turrets of the ''Furutaka''s (whom were later retrofitted to have twin-gun), new 12 cm secondary cannons, and a catapult to launch scout floatplanes, but otherwise were very similar to the ''Furutaka''-class. She had a long service life in World War II in several divisions and often as flagship. She served in China, Guam, and Wake Island earlier in the war. She escorted carrier ''Shōkaku'' to Truk after she was severely damaged. ''Aoba'' also took part in the Battle of Savo Island where her relative ''Kako'' was sunk. At the Battle of Cape Esperance she was badly damaged by the US Navy ships and had to be sent back to be fixed and after this ''Aoba'' suffered repeated unlucky damage. She was attacked by B-17s at port and had to be beached to prevent her sinking, accidentally rammed into fellow IJN ship the light cruiser ''Kinu'', and was torpedoed by multiple submarines. Her final resting place was at Kure where despite being severely damaged was kept as an AA battery. After suffering multiple more bombing that caused her to sink into the shallow 7.6 m (25 ft) her stern broke off after some B-24s finished her off. Her hulk was abandoned until being scrapped in 1946-1947 after the war.

''Nenohi'' was the second of six ''Hatsuharu''-class destroyers designed by Japan to be a destroyer that had the firepower to match a ''Fubuki''-class or ''Akatsuki''-class while being cheaper. They could not have their cake and eat it too, as the ''Hatsuharu''-class was very top-heavy while having poor structural integrity meaning they would be very unstable. Following the ''Tomozuru'' Incident where the ''Chidori''-class torpedo boat ''Tomozuru'' capsized in rough weather because of instability problems stemming from the ship being designed to have heavy guns while having a light body to skirt around naval treaties. This caused the IJN to modify ''Nenohi'' and several other ships that had similar issues to improve stability. When World War II began ''Nenohi'' saw service mostly in Southeast Asia where she participated in the invasion of French Indochina, was made flagship of Destroyer Division 21, and invaded the Dutch East Indies and was a part of Operation AL. ''Nenohi'' ran out of luck and on July 4, 1942 she was sank by a torpedo launched from the American submarine USS ''Triton'' around Agattu Island taking 188 men down with her.
