| - There should only be one image of the Belle on the main page. If she has many skins available, that belongs on a different page.

| - If and only if a ship is sunk, then another is given the same name within the span of World War 2, then use hull designators. Example: Wasp (CV-7, 1936-1942) and Wasp (CV-18, 1943-1972).

| == Historical Information ==
| |
| Z1 ''Leberecht Maass'' (Z standing for Zerstörer, the German word for destroyer) was the lead ship of the Type 1934-class (also called Z1-class or ''Leberecht Maass''-class) of destroyer ships built by Germany and was the first destroyer built by Germany after WWI. The 1934s had a strange development cycle where they were expected to serve more as a small cruiser after Germany was permitted to have light cruisers, the ships seemed to have been rushed and ended up with a short forecastle and insufficiently flared bow that gave it trouble at sea and the innovative boiler was overly complex and broke down constantly. When World War II began with Hitler's invasion of Poland she had an unlucky start by failing to sink Polish ships ORP ''Wicher'' and ORP ''Gryf'' and getting hit by a coastal gun battery in the same battle. She then withdrew and helped her sisters Z2, Z3, and Z4 lay mines in the German Bight. In a final bout of misfortune that would bring her untimely demise, Z1 ''Leberecht Maass'' was set to participate in Operation Wikinger (Viking in German) on February 19, 1940, where the Kreigsmarine and Luftwaffe were supposed to work together to hunt down British fishing vessels at Dogger Bank. A Luftwaffe Heinkel He 111 medium bomber participating in the same operation saw ''Leberecht'' and her sister Z3 ''Max Schultz'' and due to poor inter-service co-operation both the ships and plane thought the other was British and attacked. The He 111 dropped bombs that hit Z1 and exploded break her in in half, killing most of her crew while Z3 shortly after also exploded and sank with all hands after presumably hitting British a mine. An investigation done by Nazi Germany after it found that the He 111 was responsible for sinking both of the unlucky destroyers but post-war research indicates that it was possible both ships sank because of mines.
